What is the Connection Between WBENC Certification and WOSB Certification?
Introduction: Any kind of women oriented or women owned business which has applied for WBENC Certification, they have to apply for WOSB certification simultaneously. WBENC or Women's Business Enterprise National Council, it is a third party approved council, which can certify SBA’s Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting program. Eligibility – The size of the applicant company must be “small” in as compared to SBA’s size standards for that industry, as identified in 13 CFR 127. It is advisable to follow the lists of NAICS and their size standards for verification. Must be owned at least fifty-one percent (51%) unconditionally and directly owned and controlled by one or more U.S. citizenship holder woman. Management and daily operations must be under control of women business owners and they are also responsible to take any big decision for the business. Criteria for CORPORATIONS ONLY: Women must get a majority seat of the Board
